Raphael Khumalo, chief executive at the Zimbabwe Standard Sunday weekly, said Thursday court documents were served by attorneys representing President Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace.
The newspaper has faced several lawsuits over its reporting. Its editor was arrested last month over reports relating to military recruitment.
Grace Mugabe, 45, married the president, 86, a decade ago.
She says the story damages her reputation as “mother of the nation.” The leaked cable, written by the former US ambassador to Zimbabwe, says she “reaped tremendous profits” from corruption-plagued diamond fields.
