The court postponed the hearing to Jan. 9 at the request of Nuri Al-Mismari's lawyer Frederic Landon. "The facts are absolutely contested and there's not the slightest grain of evidence," Landon told the court, describing the extradition request as "an error on the part of the Libyan authorities." Mismari was arrested late last month following an international arrest warrant issued for him on behalf of Libya, which accuses him of embezzling around seven million euros in state funds. He was freed on December 15 pending the extradition hearing.
