More than SR20 million worth of agreements were also signed at the event. Maya , chairperson of the event’s organizing committee, said the exhibition organized seven workshops to train tour organizers and tour guides. Around 400 trainees attended the workshops, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
Many recommendations were made by experts at the conclusion of the exhibition. The recommendations stressed the significance of organizing international exhibitions in order to stimulate the domestic tourist industry.
The recommendations also demanded the need for laying down new strategies for the promotion of tourism. Another recommendation was for the collective efforts for the growth of the tourism industry with the participation of the private and public sectors.
It was also noted in the recommendations that the growth of domestic tourism is a national responsibility and all obstacles in the way of investments in the area should be removed.
