The campaign is resulting in successes for the environment and for the community at large, Dr. Mazin Fakeeh, who heads the hospital, told reporters on Saturday.
“We have achieved successes through this initiative in terms of recycling and effective waste management, as well as augmenting the role of the charity office and the education center in meeting the needs of the community,” he said while releasing the hospital’s second corporate social responsibility (CSR) report.
The report outlines the sustainability and responsible practice achievements relating to the hospital’s employees — 28 percent of them Saudi — as well as its patients, the environment and the community in general from January 2009 to June 2010.
“We are proud to announce that we have made remarkable progress in attaining an even higher level of CSR achievement in 2010 compared to our initial reporting achievement based on the Global Reporting Initiative guidelines. We are doubly honored that the report has been reviewed and validated by the international foundation, NMV, who are approved by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development to provide this validation,” he added.
