Scholar, poet and Urdu Markaz President Athar Nafees Abbasi said Quaid-e-Azam’s courage, honesty and commitment made Pakistan possible even though it appeared impossible at the start of the Pakistan movement. He also urged Islamabad to take urgent measures to solve the issue of stranded Pakistanis.
Pakistan Writers’ Forum President Syed Neaz Ahmed said God potentially created specific qualities of leadership in Jinnah, which helped him in the accomplishment of his mission — the birth of Pakistan.
Pakistan Journalists Forum Secretary General Mohammad Jamil Rathore said, “The achievement of Pakistan is no less than a miracle.” He also condemned the inordinate delay in repatriating the stranded Pakistanis who are living in camps in “very miserable conditions.”
Community leader Gulab Khan said, “We must bring the stranded Pakistanis back with honor and dignity.”
The event’s convener Ehsanul Haque said, “The creation of Pakistan was a great achievement under Quaid-e-Azam. The character and quality of the Quaid’s leadership was not only recognized by Pakistanis but even vocal Indian writer Jaswant Singh also had a lot to say in his book ‘Jinnah’. However, instead of adhering to his mission, we are divided into all types of ethnic, parochial and religious groups, thus resulting in uncertainty and losing track of the objective behind Pakistan.”
Hamid Islam Khan, Rasheed Chishti and Syed Shahabuddin also paid rich tributes to Pakistan’s founder.
Naseem Sehar, Abbasi, Syed Mohsin Alavi, Abdul Qayyum Waseq, Zamurrad Khan Saifi, Gule Anwar and Sher Afzal presented poems in praise of Quaid-e-Azam. Mohammad Ashfaque Badaouni conducted the program.
