According to police, the two men had argued over rent just before the murder.
Police sealed off the area and brought in forensic experts. Officers also took statements from neighbors who witnessed the argument. According to eyewitnesses, the two men had been shouting at each other before the killer took out a knife and stabbed the elderly man several times. The landlord had been demanding unpaid rent.
