BMG is aiming to emphasize its corporate social responsibility by building bridges between the East and West. "Our three major events - the GCC Polo Cup, Foundation Classics and Art Alive - aim to foster networks between business leaders and encourage and applaud artistic, musical and sporting endeavors, a BMG press statement said.
The competition will target university students in the Arab League countries to engineer the most effective awareness campaign plan aimed at guiding households on how to apply different efficient methods for water conservation.
"This year, BMG Foundation is harnessing all its efforts at addressing the crucial issue of water preservation, a global predicament with particular pressing urgency in the Middle East," the statement added.
"Our water... Our life" competition will run for four months from January and end in April 2011.
The competition is to encourage the most effective awareness campaign plan aimed at guiding households on how to apply different efficient methods for water conservation.
"As part of our 15th anniversary celebrations, BMG will also be hosting on June 16 a Foundation Classic concert in which a specially commissioned symphony on water will debut in honor of the 'Our Water, Our Life' initiative. Vartan Melkonian, will be conducting a symphony called "Amwaj" ("waves" in Arabic) which will be played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Central Hall Westminster in London," the statement said.
In June, an award ceremony will be held during their flagship event, the GCC Polo Cup in Windsor, UK, for the top three winners. The campaign of the winning plan will be implemented in July until December 2011. The Saudi Water and Power Forum (SWPF) in December will act as a platform for the closing ceremony, where a debate on results and its effects will benefit communities in the region.
