He said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has approved the conference, which will be held on July 2-4.
He also commended King Abdullah’s interfaith dialogue initiative describing it a major step.
Abalkhail said the conference would discuss the impact of King Abdullah’s initiative in achieving world peace and successful methods to make peace.
“There will be six sessions to discuss various aspects of the subject,” the president said.
Abalkhail said one session of the Tokyo conference will focus on terrorism and extremism, emphasizing that these destructive trends have no connection with religious teachings and the Islamic concept of holy war.
Another session will highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts to promote world peace, he added.
