“The number of complaints of violations committed by students sitting examinations has fallen so drastically that they could be counted with your fingers,” said Abdul Qader Tankal, supervisor for security at the university.
The two major violations observed in recent years included students using others to sit their exams and harassment of women, Tankal said.
“I appeal to all students to read the regulations governing examinations issued by their faculties or colleges apart from the instructions posted on websites,” he said.
“Students should also be aware of the roads to enter and exit the campus. They should visit the university before examinations to familiarize themselves with the bus stops from where they are be taken to their examination centers,” he said.
He also reminded the students not to forget to bring their ID cards, particularly off-campus students. He urged men not to enter through the gates meant for women to avoid crowding. He also advised to avoid crowded streets when going to examination centers in order to avoid violations of parking regulations.
He added that the number of cases of harassing women students fell considerably and were handled internally without going to police.
