The soldiers were escorting a van carrying money belonging
to Yemen Post en route to the coastal city of Hami in the province of
Hadramout, southern Yemen. The attackers looted the money and fled. The
apparent motive of the attackers was money and no one has so far claimed
reasonability for the attack.
Meanwhile, in another development, Yemen Border Guards in
Haradh arrested 19 Ethiopian women illegally heading to Saudi Arabia, Yemen’s
Ministry of Interior said.
The women were apprehended in Al-Majber area in Haradh and
handed over to the police for investigation.
The ministry said that 60 Ethiopian children were arrested
last month along the Saudi-Yemen border while trying to illegally enter the
Kingdom.
Earlier this month, police in the same Yemeni province
foiled an infiltration attempt by 40 Somalis into Saudi Arabia.
