Sources at EgyptAir said a number of flights, especially those flying from Cairo International Airport to different destinations, including Saudi Arabia, have been delayed due to the closure of roads leading to the airport.
“Most passengers could not reach airport before time to catch their flights,” one source said.
There are about six million passengers who travel between the two countries this time of the year due to school vacations, the source added.
The Saudi Embassy in Egypt has announced that Saudis in Egypt can call the following numbers if they need assistance: 3749-0775 or 3762-5000. Students can contact the cultural attaché at 3336-0612.
