Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Khaled Al-Mirghalani said the teams have been deployed to visit homes and treat patients in the family centers in the worst-affected areas of the city.
"Besides the psychiatric teams, there are also 30 medical teams deployed in the affected areas to attend to the health needs of the flood victims," he added.
Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah alerted the Jeddah health region to implement a contingency plan to attend to all casualties.
"We had 30 special task operation teams comprising medics and paramedics in all parts of the affected areas, supported by ambulances," said Mirghalani. "Now we are also concerned about the environmental health in the area since stagnant water could be injurious to the health of the residents in the neighborhood."
Ministry officials are currently taking samples of the water from home and public places to test for potential risks.
