The governor honored Mamdouh Salim, the carnival’s producer, for making the program a big success. It was the biggest carnival ever organized in the Kingdom with more than 1,000 people, including students and folklore troupes, taking part.
Salim made the program attractive and colorful by highlighting Jazan's cultural identity and its three major aspects -— its sea, valleys and mountains. A marvelous fireworks display enthralled participants who included women and children.
Prince Muhammad expressed his happiness at the carnival's success and thanked all those who contributed in organizing it, especially the Jazan Tourism Department and Media Pioneers.
Mamdouh thanked the governor for his tremendous support and appreciation. "It will certainly encourage people like me to exert more efforts for the success of such cultural programs," he said.
Many officials, artists and media persons who attended the program commended it and called it a world-class carnival. Mamdouh presented it in an attractive manner highlighting Jazan's culture and heritage with enchanting folkloric performances.
Mamdouh said he worked with a 40-member Saudi team for 40 hours to manage and organize the event. He said the team members were given necessary training to conduct the program efficiently. He also praised the departments of tourism and education, especially Rustom Al-Qabeesi, director of tourism in the region, for their support.
