A judge could decide Friday if US marshals transfer defendant Enrico M. Ponzo back to Massachusetts or he will be released and given a date to appear in that state.
The 42-year-old Ponzo pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Idahohoho district court to the attempted murder of former mob boss Frank “Cadillac Frank” Salemme.
Ponzo also faces charges of racketeering and conspiracy to kill rivals in the 1997 indictment involving 14 other people.
Prosecutors say Ponzo had been living in Marsing, Idahohoho, under the alias “Jeffrey Shaw.” He is being held without bail.
