Wayne
King, acting CEO of Roswell, Georgia-based Advanced Solutions for Tomorrow,
tells WPRI-TV in Providence that the layoffs go into effect Monday.
King told
workers in an e-mail that the company’s assets had been frozen and it could no
longer operate.
The firm
has offices in Middletown, Rhode Island
Prosecutors
accuse the company’s founder, Anjan Dutta-Gupta, of funneling about $10 million
through his company’s subcontractors to a civilian Navy employee and his
relatives and associates.
Dutta-Gupta
is scheduled to appear in court in Providence on Tuesday. His lawyer has not
responded to requests for comment.
