Citizens, expats rejoice over king’s imminent return

The streets of Riyadh have already been decorated with national flags for the monarch's return.
King Abdullah, who is convalescing in the Moroccan city of Casablanca following back surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital in November, is expected to arrive in Riyadh within days.
Riyadh's ambassador to Rabat told the AFP news agency on Friday the king would soon return to Riyadh. "I was talking to him 15 minutes ago and I can assure you he is very well," Mohammed bin Abderrahman Al-Bishr said.
Aqeeli bin Daifallah Khawaji, CEO of the Royal Commission in Yanbu, congratulated the Saudi people on the return of King Abdullah. He wished the king good health and the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity under his leadership.
Khaled bin Yousuf Sabeh, director of public relations at the Royal Commission in Yanbu, also expressed his happiness over the king’s return after full recovery. “The happiness expressed by the Saudi people over the king’s return reflect the strong bond between the Saudi leadership and its people.”
Saud Al-Malki, general manager of support services at the commission, said the whole Kingdom is happy at the king’s return. “All people in the Kingdom, Saudis and expatriates alike, love King Abdullah being the king of humanity,” he said.
Yousuf Al-Hajeeli, general manager for public services at the commission, said the return of King Abdullah to the Kingdom would be considered a historic occasion for the nation. He wished the king good health and long life to steer the Kingdom to greater progress and prosperity.
Saleh Al-Harbi, another citizen, said the whole of Saudi Arabia is awaiting the king’s return with great happiness. “Abu Miteb is a fatherly figure for all of us,” Al-Harbi said, while commending the king’s efforts to boost the Kingdom’s overall development.
Fahd Al-Rouki, also a citizen, congratulated the royal family and all Saudis on the king’s imminent return in good health.
“I am very happy over the king’s return from abroad and wish him good health.”
