"The time is not yet ripe to return," Muhammad Al-Oqail said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
"We'll let you know when to come back for your studies," he added.
Saudi Arabia evacuated Saudi students and other citizens including businessmen and families from Egypt as the turmoil over Hosni Mubarak's refusal to step down from power threatened their security.
Al-Oqail said Egyptian authorities have not yet decided when to resume classes for the second semester. "We'll inform you the time to return through your e-mails," he told the students.
