PML-N part ways with PPP in Punjab

The Punjab Assembly has a total of 380 seats. The PML-N had clinched 171 seats during Feb.18, 2008 elections while the PPP had secured 107 seats. The PML (Q) had emerged as the third largest party during the elections with 81 seats.
A breakaway faction of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) known as Unification Group with 41 seats led by Atta Maneka has formed a new alliance with the PML-N to form a government in Punjab.
The PPP has not decided to quit the Punjab government. But it already has made arrangement with the PML (Q) to form an alliance.
The PML-N led government in Punjab has given an ultimatum to the PPP to ask its ministers to quit the provincial government by Thursday.
