“Saudi people have given a strong reply to those who envy them through their unity and solidarity,” the prince said while opening a conference of health science colleges in Riyadh on Sunday.
In a similar statement, Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, emphasized the role of Saudi citizens in protecting the Kingdom’s security and stability.
“Every citizen in this country is a responsible person. Here the state is citizen and the citizen is the state. There is no division between the leadership and citizens,” he said.
Prince Sultan was referring to a statement made by Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif denouncing the move by "some wicked people" to hold demonstrations in the Kingdom. In his statement, Prince Naif praised the Saudi people for their allegiance and loyalty to the leadership.
Prince Sultan noted the government’s efforts to improve the welfare of the Saudi people and reinforce peace and stability in the country.
“Nobody in the Kingdom will tolerate those who intend to undermine the unity of the Saudi people and create division among them,” the SCTA chief said.
Saudi Arabia has become the center of attention and a major driving force in the world thanks to the hard work of its citizens, he said.
Prince Sultan commended the political, economic and social reforms introduced by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, which deal with modern requirements and speedy developments.
“The real unity of this great country lies in unity of hearts rather than its geographical unity,” Sultan said quoting a statement of the late King Abdul Aziz.
King Abdullah understands the needs of Saudi people and works to accomplish them and realize their hopes and aspirations. “Saudis also participate in taking decisions related to their lives and future,” he said while reminding Saudis about their responsibilities as citizens.
Najran Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah also warned against wicked people who want to create chaos and confusion in the Kingdom.
“God has defeated the advocates of sedition and division and they will never be able to achieve their mischievous goals whatever they do,” the governor said, while praising the security forces for their efforts in respect to this.
