During the period, Sharjah will celebrate different facets of the UAE, including its mountains, culture and traditions, agriculture and Bedouin life.
Sharjah’s ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi opened the Sharjah Heritage Days on Sunday in the presence of several top dignitaries.
The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is using the celebration to encourage both residents and international visitors to understand the emirate and Emirati culture and its identity.
The traders in the emirate also expect a huge turnout from Saudi Arabia as the school vacations have started.
“We expect thousands of tourists from Saudi Arabia this time. Because many other countries where they often go to is not in good shape, we are sure that thousands of Saudi visitors will opt for the UAE as their holiday destination,” said Abdurahman, a restaurant chain operator based in Sharjah and Ajman.
