Ali Al-Dabbagh said the Iraqi cabinet agreed Monday use all diplomatic ways possible to resettle the more than 3,400 residents of Camp Ashraf.
It was not immediately clear what the government would do if the exiles, who are members of the People’s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran, refused to go.
The interview with Al-Dabbagh was cut short and he could not be immediately reached for further details.
The UN has long held the exiles should not be forcibly returned to Iran, where they are considered a terrorist organization because they seek to overthrow the government.
