The woman, who was living with her family in Makkah after she left her husband, complained to the committee that she had to suffer severe and repeated abuse from her relatives.
The committee, which could not patch up the differences between the woman and her relatives, found a man willing to marry her with the support of the Family Reconciliation Committee in the city. The committee succeeded in its efforts and arranged for the signing of the marriage contract between the two.
The wedding reception will take place soon, Al-Madinah daily reported on Monday. Family abuse was the reason behind most of the 19 complaints received by the committee last month. It solved 80 percent of them through reconciliation talks.
