“The refinery is still shut down and will reopen when demand picks up,” Cyrus Raja, general manager of Al-Khaleej said.
The refinery sold back 100,000 tons of raw sugar to the market due to lack of demand.
Al Khaleej had shut down on February 1 this year due the low premium commanded by white sugar over raw sugar but reopened on February 28.
