The 30-minute film in both English and Arabic aims at highlighting the writing of the Qur’an since the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to the present day, an official statement issued by the complex said.
A viewer of the documentary can see the development of the calligraphic writing of the Qur’an in different times of the history with an opportunity to see portions of those elegant writings in different parts of the world.
The film highlights the important role being played by the complex to print the Qur’an and distribute its copies all over the world.
The film begins by shedding light on the condition of the Arabian Peninsula before the advent of Islam and the revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
The documentary also reveals the historical development of the Qur’an writing and the special care given by Muslim artists in writing the holy book.
It also refers to the Mushaf Makkah written by Muhammad Taher Al-Kurdi during the Second World War and the Mushaf Madinah written by Othman Taha whose writing wide acceptability in the Islamic world.
