Danks (0-2) gave up two runs and seven hits in seven innings for the White Sox, who have lost six in a row. The left-hander struck out five and hit two batters.
In Kansas City, Missouri, Alex Gordon had two hits and stretched his hitting streak to 13 games and left-hander Bruce Chen went seven strong innings, leading the Royals past the Indians on a cold and blustery night.
Chen (3-0) beat the Indians for the fourth straight time. He stretched his personal winning streak, dating to last season, to seven games over 11 starts.

Edwin Encarnacion opened the 10th with a single. After Jayson Nix and Yunel Escobar flied out, Snider drove a double to right-center, scoring Encarnacion with the winning run. Snider, who went 1 for 6, tossed his helmet away in celebration as the winning run scored.
Jon Rauch (1-1) pitched one inning for the win as Toronto snapped a three-game losing streak.
In Arlington, Texas, Angels rookie first baseman Mark Trumbo homered and drove in four runs to back a solid outing by fill-in starter Matt Palmer as Los Angeles broke out for a victory over the Rangers.
It was the first home loss for the defending American League champions.
Trumbo, playing his 24th career game since his call-up last September, had three hits. Maicer Izturis and Peter Bourjos also homered among his four hits for the Angels, who have won 10 of their last 13 games.
Palmer (1-0), in his second start for injured Scott Kazmir , limited Texas to one run and three hits over six innings. The right-hander struck out three and walked one.

In Oakland, California, Brett Anderson struck out eight and outdueled usual Oakland nemesis John Lackey for his first victory of the season, and the Athletics beat Boston to snap the Red Sox’s three-game winning streak.
David DeJesus got Oakland on the board with a first-inning RBI groundout, then Hideki Matsui added a two-run double and Daric Barton and Kurt Suzuki each hit RBI singles in a four-run eighth. Anderson (1-1) didn’t even need all that support in an efficient 109-pitch outing in which he helped the A’s (9-8) move over .500 for first time this year.
Boston remains winless away from Fenway Park and was blanked for the second time this season after losing 1-0 at Cleveland on April 7.
In Seattle, Doug Fister struck out a career-high seven in 6 1-3 innings, and the light-hitting Seattle Mariners capitalized on 11 walks allowed by Detroit, routing the Tigers.
The Mariners entered as the worst hitting team in the American League with runners in scoring position. That quickly changed thanks to a first-inning outburst kept alive by an error from Detroit starter Phil Coke (1-3), and a two-out, two-strike single from Chris Gimenez that made it 4-0.
The clutch hitting continued in the fourth when Chone Figgins got his first hit all season with a runner in scoring position, driving in Ichiro Suzuki . Seattle added five runs in the seventh off Detroit’s bullpen and the 13 runs were a season high.
