Saeed Al-Afandi gave a lecture on the role of moral values in reducing the drug problem while Abdul Razak Al-Zahrani spoke about the family’s role in preventing their children from consuming narcotic drugs.
Princess Mouda bint Abdullah gave a lecture on anti-drug awareness programs for women while Abdullah Al-Khalifa spoke on the intensity of drug abuse in Saudi society and Lt. Col. Jassem Al-Dubul made a presentation on the need for an effective strategy to enhance public awareness about the danger of drugs.
Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal opened the conference titled “Toward an effective strategy to create awareness on the danger of drugs” on Saturday.
During the opening he announced the establishment of a research chair at KAU in the name of Prince Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior, for the promotion of moral values.
Prince Khaled also opened an exhibition that was staged on the sidelines of the conference to highlight the dangerous effect of drugs on society.
The governor was briefed on the various techniques adopted by smugglers to bring drugs into the Kingdom.
