Qaddafi has not been seen in public since Saturday’s attack, which Libyan officials said killed one of Qaddafi’s sons and three grandchildren. Officials have said Qaddafi was in the building, but survived.
CIA chief Leon Panetta told the US TV network NBC on Tuesday that the “best intelligence we have is that he’s still alive.” Libya’s deputy foreign minister, Khaled Kaim, says Qaddafi met with tribal leaders on Tuesday.
Kaim refused to praise or condemn the US action that killed Osama Bin Laden. He only says Libya has long fought Al-Qaeda.
