Gulf history forum kicks off in Riyadh Monday

The three-day forum will be attended by 150 members of the society, which is based in the Kingdom, in addition to a number of specialists in history and archaeology.
The participants will discuss more than 25 research topics on the history of GCC countries and their respective antiquities and heritage.
The research topics will cover different historical eras, such as the ancient and contemporary Islamic  periods. They will also highlight the various aspects of GCC history as well as contributions of GCC nationals to civilization.
The forum will also honor SCTA Chairman Prince Sultan bin Salman for his efforts regarding history, antiquities and urban heritage and for the quantum leaps that have been made in the development of local tourism and antiquities.
The forum will also appoint a new governing council for the society in the next session for a three-year term as well as appoint a new secretary-general for the same period.
The society is devoted to historical and archaeological research, aiming to highlight what the people of GCC countries have experienced in the different ages of human history.
It also aims to highlight the achievements as a result of cooperation between specialists and interested nationals of GCC countries in the areas of historical and archaeological studies and exchange of experiences and skills.
