Security has been beefed to the maximum along the western coastal line, with strong security cordon around the Bhabha Atomic Research and Energy Center at Tarapur. Patrolling by the Coastal Guards, Mumbai Marine Police, Indian Navy and Customs has been intensified.
Security has also been upgraded to the highest level at all airports and seaports in the state, including the international airport and seaport in Mumbai. Fishermen venturing out into the seas off Mumbai have been warned not to cross the prohibited limits and to keep their fishing trawlers well within the border.
All state and federal government installations including the Mazgaon shipyard are being kept under strong surveillance. Police have been carrying out searches at hotels, railway stations, shopping malls, business centers, bus terminus and questioning suspects.
