“The coming period will see a new TV series and a new feature film that will deal with the life and death of Al-Banna,” said Raddi at a press conference in Cairo.
He said that the Muslim Brotherhood would have no input in producing the television series or the feature film, which will both be produced by a production company based in Kuwait. The part of Al-Banna will be performed by a Syrian actor.
"The TV series will deal mainly with the life of Al-Banna, from the day he was born, to his plans of trying to bring happiness to his family and community, to the time when he attempted to reform the country by visiting cafes, shops and mosques," said Raddi.
Parts of the series will also cover dramatic events in Al-Banna's life, including conflicts with King Farouk, which ended with the founder’s assassination while he was still in his 40s.
Al-Banna’s son Saif Al-Islam told Egyptian press that the Muslim Brotherhood is not against the arts, stating that he had attended with his father several stage dramas at the Egypt Opera House in the past.
