The first working day after the Eid would be Sunday, Al-Madinah Arabic daily reported. Earlier, government employees enjoyed a 16-day Eid Al Fitr holiday, the longest Eid holiday offered to the public sector, last year.
The public sector employees can avail of 11 days as holidays for this year’s Eid Al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice). The holidays will start on Tuesday, Nov. 1 (Dhul Hijjah 5) and end on Friday, Nov. 11 (Dhul Hijjah 15).
Saudi school students will have a 82-day long summer vacation this year. The second semester examination will start on Saturday, June 11 and end on Wednesday, June 22. The vacation will commence at the end of the last day of the examination. The schools will re-start on the first day of the new academic year on Saturday, Sept. 10. As for teachers, they have a 60-day summer vacation this time. Their vacation will begin on Wednesday, July 13 and end on Monday, Sept. 5, according to the newspaper.
