Acting commander of the Border Guard in Jazan, Maj. Gen. Abdul Aziz Al-Subhi, said firearms including rifles and pistols and various quantities of hashish and qat were seized from the smugglers.
He said the confiscated material comprised of 1,622 kg of hashish and 359,880 kg of qat in addition to 4,153 kg of snuff, 4,109 heads of cattle and SR248,811 in cash.
Al-Subhi asked citizens and expatriates to join hands with the Border Guard to foil attempts of infiltrators and smugglers, and said the force could be contacted anytime on 994.
