The Logan Daily News reports that 54-year-old Phillip Withem of Logan
initially won $2,500 from the ticket, which then qualified for the state's
"Top Prize Drawing" feature. His win was announced on Tuesday at a
lottery office in Athens in southeast Ohio.
The Lottery Commission said Withem
receives disability assistance and has some health issues. Withem said he had
no immediate plans for his winnings but plans to share some of his fortune with
friends. Winning Ohio instant lottery tickets on games that sell for $5 or more
are entered into a drawing held when the game ends. Withem's ticket was among
86 entered in May.
