Soon as
some television channels showed the Sena offer to Munde this afternoon, tension
grew up in the Sena-BJP alliance. Munde had met Sena Working President Uddhav
Thackeray twice last week which indicated that Munde was being lured into Shiv
Sena with some offer.
It was
also being said that negotiations were going on between Uddhav and Munde on
some issues and that it was likely that Munde would leave the BJP and join the
Sena.
Some TV
channels were predicting that if Munde, who was the backward class mask in the
BJP, would leave the party and join the Sena then he would be the Sena
candidate for the Maharashtra chief minister’s post. It was also being said
that if Munde joins the Sena then the BJP would break the alliance with the
Sena.
Sena
Member of Parliament and executive editor of its mouthpiece “Saamna"
commenting on the entry of Munde into the Sena said, “It is a fact that Munde
and Uddhav met twice last week. But no one should take benefit of meeting
between Munde and Uddhav and try to threaten the Sena,” Sanjay Raut said.
Meanwhile,
BJP leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Eknath
Khadse and leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and
legislator Pasha Patel met Munde on Friday and tried to pacify him.
