The two got close to each other through text messaging and one day they decided to meet up. As ill luck would have it, the girl’s father became suspicious after noticing too many messages on the girl’s BlackBerry. He demanded to see her phone, but she refused to hand him the device. The father snatched the phone and started chatting with the young man, pretending to be his daughter. He lured the ‘e-suitor’ to a meeting at the corniche. The Romeo arrived at the place at the set time only to find a 50-year-old man waiting for him in place of his Juliet. The father beat up the man and told him to never contact his daughter. The lover’s pleas to the father that it was his daughter who started the chat fell on deaf ears.
