Almarai is taking the price of its 2 liter fresh milk and laban pack sizes in the Kingdom back to levels prior to July 1 with immediate effect.
However, Almarai, which had increased the price of a two liter fresh milk and laban pack from SR7 to SR8, said it "believes that the rationale and justification for the price increase is still valid."
On Sunday, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry ordered a rollback of the price of fresh milk and fresh milk products to previously determined levels amid an uproar.
Consumers have also raised concern over a 20-30 percent price hike affected other staple items such as poultry, meat and canned food as the holy month of Ramadan draws closer.
