The 14 were among a group that attacked the Balloon Theatre in Cairo after they were stopped from attending the ceremony honoring some of the 840 people killed in the uprising.
The incident triggered clashes between police and demonstrators in Cairo’s Tahrir Square in which more than 1,000 people were wounded.
MENA said the court took into consideration the “circumstances” of the 14 suspects, and gave them a suspended sentence of six months each. It did not elaborate on the special circumstances.
The Interior Ministry at the time blamed a group seeking to disrupt the event and stir up a riot for the clashes.
