Police say “an amount of property was seized as evidence” during Thursday’s raid. No arrests were made.
Greenpeace activists broke into a government experimental farm in Australia’s capital, Canberra, last Thursday and used brush cutters to destroy swaths of the crop.
The crop was to be used in the first human trials in Australia. Greenpeace cited concerns about health, cross-contamination and the secrecy surrounding the experiments.
The government says the experimental crop did not introduce any new genes to the plants and is safe for humans.
