Police said the bombs were detonated early Wednesday morning in Narathiwat province on a section of the line leading to the town of Sungai Kolok on the border with Malaysia. Repairs were still being done Wednesday afternoon.
There were no casualties and the perpetrators were not identified.
Thailand’s three southernmost provinces are wracked by violence, with more than 4,300 people killed since an Islamist insurgency flared in 2004. Drive-by shootings and roadside bombings are common.
On Monday, five teachers and two defense volunteers in Yala province were wounded by a roadside bomb as they were going to school.
