Prince Khaled made the appeal at the conclusion of a meeting of the Central Haj Committee (CHC), of which he is also chairman, in Makkah on Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
“The directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to provide the best services to pilgrims have had a noticeable impact in terms of the remarkable success of the Haj season last year and the current Umrah season,” said Prince Khaled.
“The CHC meeting aims to ensure the implementation and continuation of improved services to Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque,” the prince added.
The meeting reviewed the operating plan of the central zone surrounding the Grand Mosque for Ramadan. A subcommittee of the CHC is supervising the operation plan for the zone.
The plan is annually revised and improved by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Haj Research.
The plan covers the tasks to be undertaken by all departments related to serving Umrah pilgrims and visitors to Makkah during Ramadan. The meeting also discussed the arrangements to receive and send back the millions of Umrah pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements made by the General Authority for Civil Aviation and other related agencies at the airport.
The meeting discussed the outcome of the subcommittee’s talks with officials of the Ministry of Haj, Makkah and Jeddah municipalities, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Customs Department, the Health Directorate, the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques’ Affairs, police, the Passport Department and the Water Department.
