The recent episode of the series again hit out at the venality of corruption. It also brought out some home truths that separate rules applied in the application of the rules, and invariably the corrupt went home scot-free.
The episode brought out these facts succinctly through the actions of a corrupt judge, highlighting the administration and financial corruption.
Nasser Al-Qasabi, playing the role of a corrupt judge who used his sensitive position to accept bribes and rule in favor of some businessmen to seal some land deals, invariably tricks his way out of a spot when the supervision authority decides to investigate and confront him.
The judge asks for time to respond to the allegations. Seeing his superior distraught over the probe, his assistant comes up with a plan to evade investigation.
The assistant asks the judge to claim that he is possessed by a jinn of a handicapped person, who was mute and deaf in his lifetime. The judge's action stymied the supervision authority's investigation, and they closed the file because they could not interrogate the possessed judge.
While this drama was going on, the supervision authority was simultaneously investigating the case of a missing old typewriter that was taken by a poor employee, played by Abdullah Al-Sadhan. They accused the employee of theft, and the employee broke down under the sustained accusation.
The series ends with the employee emphasizing the imbalance in social justice with the supervision authority managing to flex their muscles against the weak while ignoring influential personalities.
