Mahbub Ali recalled they nearly starved and were kept shackled at night.
“We were not physically tortured, but the places they used to keep us in were horrific,” he told reporters and well-wishers at the airport in Dhaka.
He said the captors berated them for going to Afghanistan to “help non-Muslims.”
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, who also greeted the men as they debarked the plane, has said she does not know if a ransom was paid for their release last week following negotiations between their captors and local village elders in Afghanistan.
Afghan police have blamed the Taleban for kidnapping the men in December from a building site near the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif where they were working for a South Korean construction company. One Bangladeshi man was killed during the abduction attempt, and two of the seven men who were kidnapped were released two days later.
