Alicante announced the deal on its website Tuesday. It said the American player, who helped lead Duke to the NCAA championship in 2010, has a get-out clause that allows him to return to the NBA if the lockout is lifted.
The 23-year-old forward was taken 33rd overall by the Pistons in this summer’s draft.
Alicante plays in Spain’s topflight league.
