The Libyan community in the Kingdom expressed their happiness at the rebel’s victory, with the fall of Tripoli on Tuesday. The missions in Riyadh and Jeddah as well as the Libyans living in Saudi Arabia shifted their allegiance to the Libyan revolutionaries and announced their support to the National Transitional Council.
A large number of the Libyans attended the ceremony of hoisting the new flag in Riyadh.
Many Libyans thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his support to Arab and Islamic causes.
“I can’t believe that we have put an end to Qaddafi regime. We are looking forward to build a new future of our country,” Mosa Abu Taleb, a Libyan resident in Riyadh told Arab News. The Riyadh mission said there are about 70 Libyan residents in the Kingdom.
