A variety of edutainment programs have been set up to enable the participants spend their holidays in a useful and constructive manner.
“The festival targets both male and female youth,” said Abdullah Bawazir, chairman of the organizing committee and director general of the Dawa Center in South Jeddah, the main organizer of the event.
“Together we celebrate Eid” is the slogan of the forum, which is held at the Youth City in Wurood district, north of Al-Nakheel residential compound. It includes lectures, cultural contests, workshops, sports and games, and other recreational activities.
Bawazir said the event was aimed at promoting healthy recreation for all sections of society.
Participants are likely to receive fabulous prizes and the winners will be selected through lucky draws.
The forum aims at achieving a number of objectives and help family members make use of their spare time for educational and self-development programs, said Bawazir. The three-hour programs will start at 9 p.m.
“The forum targets not only youths but all other sections of society,” the chairman said. “It will include a number of dawa programs targeting youths,” he added.
He thanked Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal for his support.
The forum has a separate section for all kinds of sports activities in addition to recreational programs.
There is a special section for ladies with a lot of programs for their personality development and recreation.
Bawazir said experts will conduct a number of training programs during the event in addition to counseling and reconciliation sessions to help settle social and family conflicts and differences.
“We’ll also organize a number of lectures and seminars for men and women respectively,” the chairman said.
There will be administrative, health and fine arts training courses as well as exhibitions, cultural and educational contests and distribution of books.
Muhammad Al-Areefi gave a lecture on “Eid celebration” on the first day.
Abdul Wahid Al-Maghrebi, Adel Banaema, Walid Al-Rashoudi, Muhammad Al-Muqrin, Ali Al-Nafeesa, Rashid Al-Zahrani, Abdul Mohsen Al-Ahmed and Saeed bin Misfar are scheduled to speak on different Islamic topics during the event.
