The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), which is organizing the event, said over two days the participants will discuss the Kingdom's labor market's strategy under the Nitaqat program aimed at providing more jobs to Saudis in the private sector.
The JCCI said the forum will discuss a number of issues, including the expected results of the Nitaqat program, job enrichment to enhance productivity, creative entrepreneurship to build a positive working culture, building a congenial work environment to attract and retain local talent, expectations of business owners toward HR changes and other relevant issues.
It said the forum would endeavor to find answers to questions relating to the labor market strategy in the context of new developments, the organization of the work visa market, the application of the Nitaqat program and the establishment of companies to recruit manpower from abroad.
JCCI Deputy Chairperson Lama Al-Sulaiman said the forum would tackle a number of themes, including the new strategic trends of the Labor Ministry in the light of current challenges, the expected results of the Nitaqat program and the best methods to utilize young Saudi talent.
“The forum is aimed at building a real partnership between the public and private sectors to further increase the use of qualified national cadres and promoting a conducive environment to upgrade competitiveness and increase productivity,” she said.
Head of the chamber’s HR department Sameer Husain said the forum would review the strategic trends to organize the labor market, the mechanisms for ensuring better use of local talent, the expectations of businessmen and profile successful HR experiments.
He said Labor Minister Adel Fakeih will talk about his ministry's strategies to cope with the current labor challenges.
The Binladin Group is the official sponsor of the forum. The CPC is the diamond sponsor and Al-Majal Group is the silver one.
CEO of CPC Ihab Abu Rukba said an exhibition would be held concurrently to display exhibits of a number of local and international companies and HR offices. He added that more than 10 workshops would be held to tackle HR topics.
According to JCCI sources, the forum will be targeting businessmen, decision makers, HR directors in organizations and companies, directors of development and training, university students, employment offices and others.
