Christopher McGuire was arrested last week and charged with one count of contamination of goods and two counts of administering a noxious substance.
Police launched an investigation in August after four boxes of Nurofen Plus were found to contain a prescription-only anti-psychotic drug. Another contained a drug used to treat epilepsy.
Nurofen manufacturer Reckitt Benkiser recalled the product and stopped distribution when it discovered the contamination. The company said the recall was limited to UK supplies of the medication.
Thirty-year-old McGuire will appear Monday at West London Magistrates’ Court.
