Provincial police chief Juan Carlos Paggi tells Argentina’s state news agency that the arrested suspects include a Colombian trafficker and a Mexican member of the feared Zetas cartel.
Gov. Daniel Scioli said an Argentine businessman also is under arrest. He is accused of setting up a fake company to export the cocaine in orthopedic gel packs to a medical trade fair in Portugal.
Police said Wednesday they also seized 110 pounds (50 kilograms) of pure cocaine worth $27 million hidden in a safe in the gel pack factory.
