They said the minister has asked Saudi businessmen to employ Saudis in their establishments in which about 80 percent of the six million foreign expatriates were employed. More than 600 participants, consisting of businessmen, government officials and local and foreign experts will attend the three-day event.
The sources said the ministry would present to the forum its Tawteen (job nationalization) strategy aimed at curbing unemployment and the mechanisms of its implementation. A lecture on how to achieve an excellent level in the Tawteen program would be delivered during the forum.
A debate on the significance of labor committees in the Kingdom from the viewpoint of the International Labor Organization (ILO) would be held.
According to the sources, the forum will also discuss the designing and enrichment of jobs to raise productivity and help attract young businessmen and women. They added that Hafiz (incentive) program, under which about 1.5 million unemployed Saudis will receive monthly payments of SR2,000 each for a year starting from November, would prominently figure in the discussions.
Three workshops will concurrently be held. Fakeih will preside over one of them titled “the strategy of employing qualified Saudis in the private sector.” More than 50 prominent businessmen are expected to attend the workshop.
Renowned foreign experts will deliver lectures on various HR topics. John McGurk, adviser on learning and talent development, will deliver a lecture titled “HR Profession Map” while Howard A. Wallack, director of the Global Member Program, Society for Human Resources Management, will talk about innovation as a driving force for the success of Saudization.
The event is being held under the slogan “Local Capacities for Better Competitiveness.” The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is organizing the event. The Binladin Group is the official sponsor of the forum. The CPC is the diamond sponsor and Al-Majal Group is the silver one.
The forum participants will discuss the labor market’s strategy under the Nitaqat program. The JCCI said the forum would discuss a number of issues, including the expected results of the Nitaqat program, job enrichment to enhance productivity, creative entrepreneurship to build a positive working culture, building a congenial work environment to attract and retain local talent, expectations of business owners toward HR changes and other relevant issues.
It said the forum would endeavor to find answers to questions relating to the labor market strategy in the context of new developments, the organization of the work visa market, the application of the Nitaqat program and the establishment of companies to recruit manpower from abroad.
