He was speaking at the 13th session of the board of trustees on Thursday presided over by Eastern Province Gov. Prince Muhammad bin Fahd at the foundation headquarters in Riyadh.
The board approved a SR52 million budget for 2012.
According to the financial report, the foundation has generated SR323 million in revenue since its inception, of which SR51 million has been spent on executing the will of Princess Al Anood.
Al-Huzaim said out of the total outlay last year, SR12 million was spent implementing charitable works such as the construction of mosques, distribution of alms and sacrificial meat, serving iftar (breaking of the fast) meals and providing drinking water to the needy in remote areas.
The remaining amount was allocated for dawa work, children’s welfare, assistance for disabled people, housing programs, teaching of the Holy Qur’an, and family and social welfare programs.
Vice President of the Board and President of the Executive Committee Prince Saud bin Fahd, and other board members were among those present at the meeting. They inspected the state-of-the-art foundation headquarters located at the Al-Khuazam district in Riyadh. The new environmentally-friendly building also features a mosque which can accommodate a 1,000-strong congregation. It is equipped with modern amenities, including a facility for direct interpretation of sermons.
Al-Huzaim also shed light on new projects, including construction of a SR4 million mosque in Dammam that would accommodate 1,290 people. There will also be projects for research, youth and international training centers.
The foundation’s funds are being invested in real estate. According to Al-Huzaim, the design for a housing tower in Riyadh’s Al-Murabba district covering 22,354 square meters was completed, while on the civilian side 54 housing units were constructed.
The Princess Al-Anood Charitable Foundation was founded 12 years ago on a royal order.
